Beyond Neoliberalism Conference

Organized by University of Cambridge and Queen Mary University of London, Beyond Neoliberalism Conference gathers a high-profile and interdisciplinary group of scholars and thinkers – social scientists, legal scholars, historians, journalists, public intellectuals, and policymakers from all around the world to draw on the participants’ expertise in their respective fields to envision a new political economic order.

Visualising pathways to a new economy and politics

Finding pathways for new economic and political systems requires imagination. As Frederic Jameson said, it's easier to imagine the end of the world than an end of capitalism. Neoliberal narratives, so dominant in our western culture, make it hard to envision other possible futures. Identity I designed for Beyond Neoliberalism Conference grapples with these topics. At its centre is the eclipse, referring to the profit-oriented agendas obstructing imaginaries of other societal structures. New Pathways though are peeking through, and power the economic, historical and political discourse that goes beyond mainstream framing.
